Boulder Wedding & Elopement Photographer

Capturing once-in-a-lifetime experiences for down-to-earth couples in Boulder and across the mountains of Colorado.

Natural photos for couples who want to revel in your wedding day

I photograph weddings and elopements across Colorado for couples who value the moments and memories even more than the photos—whether your wedding day is spent adventuring alone or celebrating with all your favorite people.

I photograph love and I photograph people—all love and all people.

As an LGBTQ+ photographer and an immigrant, I believe in celebrating the diversity in our world and I will never discriminate based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Whatever your love looks like, I want to photograph it.

“To say the day of our elopement in Colorado was epic is an understatement because Nina single-handedly turned our already amazing day into the most incredible adventure!”

What I Offer

Elopements

An elopement is an intentional wedding day where the focus is on the two of you having the best day ever, either alone or with a few guests.

Because of the small group size, elopements can often take place on public lands that aren’t available to larger groups, without having a negative impact in the land.

Whether you want to hike to an alpine lake in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, go off-roading along the continental divide, or wander around your neighborhood in Denver after eloping at the courthouse, I’ll help plan and capture the day so that you can enjoy every moment—and remember exactly what it felt like.

Micro Weddings

A micro wedding is like an elopement for couples that can’t imagine getting married without your closest friends and family there to celebrate with you.

It’s not just a smaller wedding though—a micro wedding is all about having an intentional, relaxed celebration without having to follow the rules of a traditional wedding day. My couples usually spend part of the day on an adventure in the mountains, and celebrate at a small venue or vacation rental afterwards.

Weddings

Weddings are all about bringing your favorite people together in one place to celebrate your love, and I love photographing all the little interactions you have with everyone throughout the day.

Many of my couples choose to add an adventure session before or after the big day to spend quality time together and get epic portraits without having to sacrifice time spent with your guests on your wedding day.

Whatever your wedding looks like, I want you to savor every moment—and get photos that help you remember the experience for life.

Adventure Sessions

An adventure session is an opportunity to have a good time with your partner, and get photos that capture how much you love each other (or your kids, your dogs, your favorite hiking trail, or even your neighborhood coffee shop or bookstore).

While most couples use these for an engagement session, I also photograph proposals, vow renewals, anniversary sessions, and more. What you love is worth celebrating—and not only when you’re getting married.

“Nina was a constant source of knowledge and positivity throughout the planning and execution of our micro wedding in Colorado. She became so much more to us than just a photographer, and the care and attention to detail she puts into her work was clear from the very first conversation we shared.”

About Nina Larsen Reed

When I first moved from Norway to Colorado in 2010, it didn’t take long before I fell in love hard with both the Rocky Mountains and with my partner. (One of our first dates was at A-Basin. How could I resist either?)

We eloped at the courthouse in Boulder after knowing each other for less than a year, and our only mistakes were not getting married outside in the mountains we love, and not hiring a photographer.

Now I help couples like you do exactly what you want on your wedding day (whether that involves all your favorite people or just your dog), and make sure that you’ll have photos to remember the day for life.

“Our elopement was the best day of our lives and it honestly felt like a fairytale, and that is 100% whole-heartedly down to Nina. Not only is she (obviously) an incredibly talented photographer, but she is friendly, approachable, flexible, creative, and dedicated. Look no further!”

What’s next?

1. Contact

You contact me, and I’m available for your date we’ll schedule a video consultation to talk about what you’re planning and how I can help you. At the end of our call, you’ll know if I’m the right photographer for you.

2. Plan

You book me, and we start planning. If you’re eloping I’ll craft a personalized location guide, give recommendations for lodging and vendors, and help you through every step of the process. If you’re having a wedding I’ll work seamlessly with your planner so that you never have to stress about your photos.

3. Marry

You get married while having the best time ever, and trust me to capture your big day as it felt, without turning the whole day into a production. The best photos come when you live in the moment and forget I’m there—those are the photos you’re going to love reminiscing over on your anniversaries.
