Erica and Rob’s wedding weekend was one of the most intentional celebrations I’ve photographed. After backcountry skiing together over the winter for their engagement session, I already felt like I knew the Boulder couple when I showed up on the hill for their Catholic wedding mass on Thursday night.
Catholic Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas
Dinner at Blackbelly
Once the two were legally wed, everyone headed to Blackbelly in east Boulder for dinner in their private dining room — the perfect space for this small group of friends and immediate family.
Welcome Party at Pizzeria Alberico
On Friday evening, Erica and Rob rented out Pizzeria Alberico on Pearl Street for their welcome party. While it was pouring rain outside, the aperol spritzes and woodfired pizzas kept everyone happy inside.
Wedding at Sunrise Amphitheater
Erica and Rob got ready for the day at her parents’ home in Boulder, before we loaded up their wedding party in a rented shuttle and headed to Chautauqua for portraits. (Having a shuttle was truly a blessing, since we avoided having to park at Chautauqua on a Saturday afternoon.) From there we continued on to Sunrise Amphitheater for their late afternoon ceremony. Their dog even made an appearance at the end!
Reception at Corrida
To end the day, everyone headed to downtown Boulder for the wedding reception at Corrida. With the best rooftop in Boulder (and an incredible menu to match the views), it was the perfect place to celebrate Erica and Rob.
