What to Expect

I

Let’s do a video chat (or meet for coffee or a beer, if you’re local to Boulder) and get to know each other! It’s SO important to me that we make sure we get along before your wedding, and I want you to feel completely confident in your decision when you book me. Picking a photographer is the most important decision you’ll make for your wedding (other than who you’re marrying ;-), and I promise it’s worth the time up front to make sure you don’t end up with someone who makes you cringe every time they point their camera at you!

II

I want to help my couples in whatever way I can, from scouting the most epic elopement locations in Colorado to recommending a makeup artist that will get up at 3am to get you ready for that sunrise ceremony. I am always just a text or email away! I will also send you my wedding guide, tips for putting together your family portrait list, help you build a timeline, and all that good stuff.

III

On your wedding day, I want to feel more like an old friend or extra bridesmaid than some random vendor you hired. I’ve helped zipped a bride into her dress at the trailhead, taken a couple off-roading in my Subie to find a secret waterfall, and hugged so many teary-eyed moms at the end of the night that I’ve lost count. I promise the whole day will feel more natural, and your photos will look so much better, when you know and trust your photographer!

“These are beautiful! Thank you so much!!!!! I’m tearing up going through them. You captured the beauty of our elopement PERFECTLY!”

Destination Weddings + Elopements

There’s a huge difference between planning a hiking elopement in the fjords of Norway or a full-day destination wedding on the French Riviera for your whole family, and so I would love to put together a custom quote for you!

Planning trips is one of my biggest passions (it’s kind of a problem – I always start planning a new trip before I’ve even gone on the next one on my schedule!), and I would love to help you in any way I can. Need help finding an epic hike away from the crowds of the closest tourist destination? An airbnb that can fit twenty of your closest friends for a backyard dinner? Understanding how the heck the Norwegian ferry system actually works? Hit me up, this is the stuff I live for!

And before you freak out about how expensive this will be, take a deep breath. I travel whether I’m working or not, and I’m always happy for an excuse to write off a trip, so my destination photography collections are very reasonable!

“We can’t tell you how absolutely appreciative we are of all of your help. You made this trip a million times easier and we can’t thank you enough. You made our day!”

Happy Couples

See what the couples I have worked with have to say about the experience!

Sae & Andrew

When my husband and I decided to move to Colorado, we knew we wanted to elope and take advantage of all the beautiful spaces in the state. We didn’t give anything much thought other than we wanted great pictures. We contacted dozens of photographers and everyone fell short for one reason or another (timing, style, responsiveness, etc.). When we found Nina, it felt like we found someone who understood us and truly loved CO. She was responsive, prompt, thorough and incredibly helpful. Nina held our hand through the process and we essentially asked her to pick our venue. She delivered and it was exactly what we envisioned. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I am truly grateful that we found Nina.

Caroline & Steve

Nina was fantastic to work with and the photos are amazing!! We had a winter elopement Rocky Mountain National Park, and the weather caused us to make some last minute changes to our plans. Nina was accommodating in every way! She was so knowledgable about the location and made the day smooth and easy. Our friends and family have given us so many compliments on the photos!

Alyssa & Matt

These are beautiful! Thank you so much!!!!! I’m tearing up going through them. Amazing to be able to relive the day. You captured the beauty of the Maroon Bells and our elopement PERFECTLY!

Jessica & Paul

Our experience working with Nina for our hiking engagement session was more than Paul and I could have ever hoped for. From the very first e-mail, we knew that Nina was somebody we wanted to work with. She diligently worked to help us find the perfect hiking location to an old mining town in the mountains for our photos. Not to mention, the day of the actual photoshoot was full of adventure, hiking and good laughs. She is an incredibly skilled photographer who genuinely cares about her clients!

Heirloom Wedding Albums

Let’s be real? There’s very little point in investing in a wedding photographer if your photos will spend the next sixty years on a thumb drive, or on a social platform you’ll never look at again after the post-wedding likes have come and gone. I want you to have something tangible after your wedding, which is why I offer heirloom quality albums that your future grandkids can flip through long after Facebook is dead and gone.

My heirloom wedding albums are printed in the United States with archival ink on fine art paper, and come with a lifetime quality warranty. Sizes start at 6x6 (perfect for parent or gift albums!) and go up to 12x12. Cover options include high quality book cloth in 70+ different colors, and full-grain, rustic, and premium leathers. Custom engraved wood album display boxes in your choice of wood finish are available as an add-on.

P.S. That is not a miniature size album in the slider – my Luna is a very large cat 😉

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you photograph our LGBTQ+ wedding?
Heck yes! (And I am so sorry this is a question anyone still has to ask.)
Where are you based? Will you travel for us?
I’m based in Boulder, Colorado, but I love exploring and will gladly travel anywhere to photograph rad outdoor lovers. I have worked in Norway, Iceland, Sweden, France, Czech Republic, and across the U.S. and I’m always looking for new adventures.
Can you help us find a beautiful place to elope?

Of course! Many of my couples are coming to Colorado from out of state, or recently moved here, and want my help in picking the perfect location for their mountain elopement. I’ve spent the past eight years road-tripping Colorado and exploring every nook and cranny of our beautiful state, so once you’re booked I will send you my elopement location guide, and help you find the perfect spot!

When do we get our photos?
You will receive a sneak peek photo to your email within 48 hours after your wedding or session, and your full gallery will be ready within four weeks!
How many photos will we get?
It depends on how many hours I am there for, the schedule of events, whether we have a second photographer, and other variables (like if we spend an hour driving from your getting ready to ceremony to reception). You will generally receive between 50-75 edited photos per hour of coverage.
Will we get high-resolution files?
Yes, you will receive the edited photos delivered digitally via your own personalized gallery that you can share with friends and family, and you can download the photos in high-resolution. You will also get a print and digital use release, which means that you can share the photos online or print as many copies as you’d like.
Where can we buy prints?

You can order prints directly from your personalized gallery, which means your prints come from a high-quality print shop that I trust. You are of course welcome to use any print shop you’d like, but printing via my gallery ensures the best quality!

Do you have insurance and permits?

Yes, I maintain full business liability insurance, and can provide a copy of my insurance certificate to the venue upon their request. I also have annual photography permits for Boulder OSMP, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Jefferson County, and I will gladly research permits for any other location we might want to shoot in.

How and when do we pay?
When you are ready to book, a $1,000 retainer and a signed contract will hold your date. The remaining balance is due three weeks before your wedding date. I’m also happy to split the remaining balance into up to four payments for you. For adventure sessions, engagements, proposals, and other portrait sessions, the session fee is paid in full in advance.
This all sounds great, now how do we book you?
Get in touch via my contact form, or give me a call or text me at 303-219-0307. If I’m available for your date, we’ll set up a time for us to either FaceTime or meet for a coffee or beer, so we can talk about your big day and make sure we’re right for each other. Then you’ll sign a contract, pay your retainer, and we’re all set!
