Alisha + Josh’s Juniper Mountain House Wedding
Alisha and Josh’s intimate wedding at Juniper Mountain House in Evergreen, CO was such a joy from beginning to end. When Alisha first reached out to me last year, she knew they wanted mountain elopement vibes while also having their closest friends and family be a part of the day. I had just come across Juniper Mountain House on instagram, and recommended that they check them out. It didn’t take long for the couple from Chicago to fall in love with the venue and book it for their wedding.
Juniper Mountain House is a modern lodge and event space in Evergreen, a quick half hour drive from downtown Denver. With five unique guest rooms and multiple common spaces (including a super cute bar and the prettiest deck with a firepit), it’s perfect for an intimate wedding since you can do a full lodge buy-out and have all your closest people stay together.
The main wedding ceremony site is in a forest meadow, a short walk from the main lodge building. It’s cozy and comfortable, surrounded by trees, and perfect for those bright Colorado afternoons where you don’t wanna be sweating and squinting for a ceremony without shade. For smaller ceremonies, or if anyone needs a more accessible option without the walk from the venue, you can also have a ceremony on the mountain view deck. The deck is also where receptions are held, and it’s so freaking pretty — make sure you check out the photos further down this post!
One of the things I love the most about Juniper Mountain House is that they offer everything from teeny elopements with just the couple and no guests at a super affordable $495 including a night’s stay, to bigger weddings for up to 60 guests, with multiple different packages in between. And unlike most venues that make you pick up the phone and call for pricing, Juniper has all their prices clearly laid out on their website.
“Nina has perfected her craft! We chose our wedding day based on Nina’s availability knowing we wanted her to capture our special day. She exceeded our expectations in every way possible. She made getting our pictures taken feel effortless and natural, and I knew I did not have to worry if she was capturing the moments/pictures we wanted. It was important to me to have both an elopement and micro wedding feel. Nina helped make this happen and picked the most beautiful location to have our mountain photos taken. The time we had together before the ceremony was incredibly beautiful and special and is something we will cherish forever. We also have her to thank for finding our wedding venue and recommending some incredible hikes for the rest of our trip! If you have stumbled upon this review look no further, because Nina is the best of the best and you will be over the moon that you picked her”
Alisha & Josh
Alisha and Josh’s wedding was a team effort, and I have to shout-out their amazing vendors who made it such a beautiful day! McArthur Weddings & Events was the planner, and did a fantastic job coordinating the vendors, setup, decor, and so much more. They know this venue in and out! Eleven Blooms is the florist extraordinaire who created Alisha’s bouquet, reception flowers, and those giant ceremony columns — they absolutely killed it. Food truck (and pizza-baking lessons, and instruction in how to shotgun a beer) by Mountain Crust — the best damn pizza you’ll ever eat. Hair and makeup by Amber at Ember Salon Boulder, who just so happens to be my personal hair stylist and an absolute joy to work with. Cake by Ruby Jean Patisserie, which I unfortunately had to leave before getting a slice of, but I know it was delicious as always.
P.S. Wondering where Alisha and Josh did their couples portraits with the mountains in the background? It’s one of my favorite hidden gems in the mountains, and a bit of a drive away from the venue, but absolutely worth taking the time out of the day to explore.
P.P.S. If you’re getting married at Juniper Mountain House, I would love to chat with you about being your photographer. Check out my wedding collections, then contact me to schedule a call.
