Tara + Taylor’s Engagement Session at Marshall Mesa
This Marshall Mesa Boulder engagement photography session is one of my favorites that I photographed this year. Not only are Tara and Taylor the sweetest couple, but they also brought their adorable dog Sami along for the photos. I picked the Marshall Mesa trail right outside of Boulder for their engagement photos because it has one of the most gorgeous views of the Flatirons, and it comes with the added benefit of being an off-leash trail for dogs. Sami was so STOKED about getting to run around without a leash, and once we started throwing sticks for her to catch she wouldn’t let us stop.
Bringing your dog along for engagement photos is such a great way to personalize your session and make it more you. You both (hopefully!) love your dog(s), and having a pup along gives us endless opportunities for fun candid photos. Now we did have to stop a couple of times to hold Sami back from running away with passing dogs, but I’d say it so worth it for the family photos. Finding off-leash trails is a key to success though, because you don’t want to be wrapped up in holding a leash the whole time – you could be hugging your partner with those hands 😉
If you’d like to bring your dog along for your photos or want a Marshall Mesa Boulder engagement photography session of your own, I would absolutely love to work with you so get in touch. I know all the good dog friendly and off-leash trails in Boulder, Colorado, so feel free to hit me up for trail recommendations too! The Boulder OSMP Interactive Trail Map is also a great resource if you’re looking for new trails to explore on your own.
