Meeker Park Lodge Wedding Inspiration
Meeker Park Lodge is a western summer camp style wedding venue in Allenspark, Colorado, a 20 minute drive south of Estes Park. With lodging for up to 75 guests, it’s the perfect venue for couples who want a full weekend of celebrations with all their friends and family in a peaceful setting with mountain views in every direction.
When Audrey from Sugar Mtn Events invited me to photograph a simple styled wedding at Meeker Park Lodge to help promote the venue, I jumped on it. I’m always on the lookout for new Boulder County wedding venues, and while Meeker Park Lodge is 99 years old, it feels brand new under Audrey’s direction. I mostly shoot elopements these days, but I love weddings with the same spirit as elopements: intentional celebrations with a focus on enjoying the mountains together with the people you love the most — and that’s exactly what this venue is all about!
If you’re not in the wedding industry, you might not be familiar with styled shoots, so let me be completely honest here: this was a photo shoot made to look like a wedding, not a real wedding. It’s a great way for venues and vendors to create photos for marketing and promos, which feels way better than treating someone’s real wedding like a photo shoot. Often you’ll see vendors trying to pretend like styled shoots were real weddings, but I’m a big fan of transparency, hence this paragraph!
A bit more about Meeker Park Lodge: there are multiple different ceremony sites around the property, depending on your group size and which views you like best. My personal favorite is the big open meadow you’ll see photos of at the end of this post, where we got photo bombed by the horses who live here! The reception hall can seat up to 120 guests, and we also show it as an indoor ceremony option in these photos. The lodging is split between the main lodge (in the first photo below), and a bunch of smaller cabins spread around the 40 acre property.
Meeker Park Lodge is right by the Wild Basin entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, so it’s perfect for a couple who wants to go on an adventurous hike for their portraits in the morning, then come back to have their ceremony and celebrations with friends and family at a venue. The venue also offers horseback riding, private yoga classes, and swing dancing and square dancing in the reception hall, so you can fill a whole weekend (or more!) with activities for your guests.
