Norwegian Fjords Wedding Locations
Norwegian Fjords Wedding Photographer | Stalheim Hotel | Norwegian Elopement Locations
When I moved from Norway to Colorado, I never dreamed that I’d one day return to my homeland as a Norwegian fjords wedding photographer. Then I met Erica and Zac for their engagement session in Boulder. They booked me to help them scout Norwegian elopement locations and photograph their destination elopement, and there I was!
Since I only make it back to Norway a couple of times a year, I wanted to make the most of this trip. I added a couple of days before Erica and Zac’s elopement to do some location scouting and exploring. I’ve traveled through the fjords around Bergen a couple of times before, but as a Norwegian fjords wedding photographer there are certain locations that I was dying to explore more. I decided to make the historic Stalheim Hotel near Flåm my home base for two days. I could not have been happier with my stay at this historic hotel.
Stalheim has a reputation for inspiring Norwegian artists for over two hundred years. After hiking around the hotel and the accompanying open-air museum I can easily see why! The current hotel is the red building in the pictures below here, and was built in 1885. The original “hotel” – one of the old wooden buildings in the photos further down – dates all the way back to 1750. As a Norwegian fjords wedding photographer, it would be so much fun to bring a couple up to the old open-air museum for photos! It’s hard to go wrong with the combination of dramatic mountains and historic buildings.
If you’re looking for a Norwegian fjords wedding photographer, please get in touch and I would love to chat more with you. I love helping my couples with planning the perfect destination elopement and capturing your special day. My travel fees to Norway are very reasonable, since I’m always looking for an excuse to visit my family and my home country!
