Rembrandt Yard is one of Boulder’s top wedding venues, and a great choice for couples who want to get married in a beautiful art gallery without worrying about the weather. As a Boulder-based wedding photographer I’ve worked at Rembrandt Yard many times over the years, and I love how every wedding here feels unique to each couple because you can truly make the space your own.
Where is Rembrandt Yard?
Rembrandt Yard is located at 1301 Spruce St, Boulder, CO 80302. If you’re local to the area, you’ll know that puts them across the street from Hotel Boulderado, and one block north from Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. The central location makes Rembrandt Yard a great venue for weddings where you want your guests to stay within walking distance—and for when you want to head out to the bars for an after party at the end of the night. (Rembrandt Yard actually includes an after party at Rosetta Hall with most packages, as they share ownership.)
While Rembrandt Yard does not have its own parking lot, there is abundant street parking and paid parking garages on the blocks around the venue. It can be a bit hard to find parking right outside the venue on weekends, so I’d recommend having everyone stay nearby, or using guest shuttles if folks are staying further away from the venue.
What makes Rembrandt Yard unique?
Beyond the central location, Rembrandt Yard is a great venue for couples who don’t want to stress about the weather. Both floors of the venue have abundant windows and the kind of natural light us photographers always wish for when working indoors all day. And since the venue is also an art gallery during the day, it doesn’t feel empty like many modern venues can—the art brings so much color and personality to the space.
With the venue split on two floors, most couples have their ceremony and cocktail hour on one floor, and the reception on the other. That way you don’t have to worry about quickly transitioning the venue in between the ceremony and reception, and can have everything set up well before it’s time to move between floors.
And a huge plus—Rembrandt Yard is a dog-friendly venue!
Want something more scenic for your ceremony? Many couples choose to have their ceremony at Sunrise Amphitheater or the Chautauqua Green, both affordable venues from Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks, then shuttle their guests to Rembrandt Yard afterwards for the reception.
Venue rental fees and inclusions
You can always find the most up-to-date pricing on Rembrandt Yard’s venue website, but their pricing starts at $3200 for full-day venue rentals on weekdays in the off-season, and ranges up to $20,000+ for all-inclusive packages. Rentals include 6400sqft of space split on two levels, including two large and gender neutral getting ready spaces (no dark groom’s room in the basement here)!
Renting Rembrandt Yard always includes tables and chairs, linens, bar and lounge furniture, and a dedicated venue coordinator. Their all-inclusive packages does include catering with Greens Point Catering, tableware rentals from Event Rents, bar from Party Liquor, florals from The Floral Mint, dessert from Button Rock Bakery, and a DJ from TH Entertainment. But if you want full control over your vendor selection, you can always do a venue only rental and build out your own dream team.
Rembrandt Yard can fit weddings with up to 125 guests for a seated dinner, but I personally think the sweet spot is somewhere between 75-100 people.
Where can we do portraits near Rembrandt Yard?
If you want to keep things simple, there are lots of beautiful spots within a few blocks walk from the venue. Embrace the city vibes on the streets of Boulder, find colorful murals or your favorite artist’s quote, and use the ivy-covered back alley directly behind Rembrandt Yard.
If you want bigger mountain views, Chautauqua is a quick ten minute drive, and Lost Gulch Overlook only fifteen minutes. And if that’s not enough, you can always bring your photographer up to Rocky Mountain National Park or Indian Peaks Wilderness in the morning for *big* mountains.
