Scarp Ridge Lodge is easily one of the nicest wedding venues in Crested Butte, and I was beyond excited when Angela and Scott booked me for their wedding at this luxury mountain lodge. The couple knew they wanted to keep their wedding intimate with only their immediate families as guests, and so they rented out Scarp Ridge Lodge for their wedding weekend in October. With a full buyout of the lodge, everyone was able to stay in one place and enjoy the whole weekend together instead of just meeting up on the wedding day.
We started the day with getting ready at the lodge before Angela and Scott shared a first look directly outside the historic building. Afterwards we headed off to the mountains where the couple shared their private vows. Crested Butte got a first dusting of snow the night before this elopement, and the contrast between fall colors in the valleys with fresh snow on the peaks could not have been more beautiful! Later we met up with their families for the ceremony, then all headed back to Scarp Ridge Lodge for a cocktail hour and reception dinner. More and more couples are choosing to do what feels right to them, but still finding ways to include the most important people in their lives on the big day, and this was truly the perfect combination.
While Scarp Ridge Lodge can accommodate up to 50 guests for a sit down dinner, it felt perfect for this smaller group as everyone was able to stay together. (The lodge can sleep up to 18 people.) When renting out Scarp Ridge Lodge for a wedding, a minimum property buyout of two nights is required—and it makes sense, as the intimate nature of the venue is the selling point, and it wouldn’t feel the same if you had other guests in the building. But you get exclusive use of the lodge for both your ceremony and reception! There’s a $5,000 fee for weddings, in addition to the two-night buyout which is dependent on the season and room pricing. If you’re planning a micro-wedding in Crested Butte, I highly recommend looking into Scarp Ridge Lodge. And if you want bigger views for the ceremony, Woods Walk is a great choice within walking distance.
“Amazing! We were so lucky to have Nina as our engagement and wedding photographer! If you are looking for someone who is a true professional and has talent oozing out of their pores, look no more! We didn’t quite have everything planned out until the last month and Nina was extremely patient with us. She listens and is on top of everything. Our pictures exceeded our already high expectations. Thank you Nina!!!”
