Danielle + Aaron’s Manor House Wedding
As I drove down from Boulder to Littleton for Danielle and Aaron’s Manor House wedding, I could hardly see the road through the heavy rain storm. It was a Sunday in September, but it had been unseasonably wet that weekend, and it kept getting worse throughout the morning. I knew the couple were planning on an outdoor ceremony on the lawn of the old mansion, with incredible views looking towards downtown Denver. As much as I kept crossing my fingers for the rain to let up, it kept pouring down, and the ceremony had to be moved inside to the upstairs ballroom.
Luckily Danielle and Aaron were one of the most easy-going couples I’ve had the joy of photographing, and didn’t let something as small as rain hold back their smiles. They exchanged their vows in front of a gorgeous floral arch in front of their closest friends and family, and I love how not a single bridesmaid was able to hold back her tears during the ceremony. When the couple finally shared their first kiss as husband and wife then walked down the aisle together, the guests tossed flower petals in the air, and it was one of those moments that not even photos can do justice.
After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we snuck Danielle and Aaron outside for their bride and groom portraits. The rain had finally slowed down, but the clouds were still dark and heavy, which created a moody Wuthering Heights look. I especially loved the low fog that covered most of the neighboring houses, as it made The Manor House wedding feel like it was floating on a cloud. And since Danielle was sporting sneakers under her dress, there was nothing holding us back from wandering through the nearby fields.
