Destination elopement in Ireland by Larsen Photo Co.

Destination Elopements

While I am based in Colorado and primarily work in the Rocky Mountains and Norway, I am also available for select destination elopements in countries where I’ve already traveled extensively.

Best Countries for Destination Adventure Elopements

I am open to photographing destination adventure elopements in any country, but I’m most confident in helping you plan an elopement in one of the countries where I have already traveled. The following are places that I have visited, photographed, and researched extensively, where I know that I can provide you the same 5-star elopement experience as I have for over 250 couples across the Rocky Mountains.

What all of these countries have in common is incredible nature and landscapes, a love for adventure and the outdoors, and a touch of luxury whether it comes in the form of unique lodging, dining, or experiences—and that’s exactly what makes them such great destinations for adventure elopements.

Norway

As a born-and-raised Norwegian I am obviously biased here, but I think Norway is the number one place couples should consider for a destination elopement if you’re looking for wild, remote landscapes without bus-loads of tourists around. You can read more about my Norway elopement packages here.

Ireland

Ireland is the country I’ve traveled most through after Norway and the United States, and another great choice for a destination elopement. With rugged landscapes, countless historical castles, and the friendliest, most welcoming people, I can never turn down an excuse to go back to Ireland.

Switzerland

While I’ve only visited Switzerland once, it made quite the impression when I photographed a destination elopement at Zermatt-Matterhorn. I would love to get back to the Swiss Alps in summer or fall for a hiking elopement, but it also makes for a great winter destination now that many ski resorts are included on the Ikon and Epic passes.

France

With five trips to France over the past decade and a years-long streak on Duolingo, it’s safe to say I’m a francophile. Yes, I love Paris, but I’m also obsessed with the small villages, the vineyards and chateaus, the places not yet viral online.

Iceland

I’ve taken a handful of stopovers in Iceland when visiting my family in Norway, and love exploring a new part of the rugged country in the North-Atlantic sea every time.

Scotland

I don’t think I’ve ever fallen in love with a country faster than I did when visiting Scotland for the first time. Between the moody fall weather and warm pubs, I never wanted to leave.

Austria

Austria is one of my favorite underrated countries in Europe. While Vienna is one of my favorite big cities, it’s the small mountain towns that really shine.

Germany

Road-tripping through Germany is a beautiful trip back in time, with historic castles and small villages tucked into beautiful landscapes straight out of a fairytale.

Spain

Growing up in Norway, my family’s winter destination of choice was the Canary Islands, so I’ve spent quite a bit of time traveling through Spain. I later spent a week on Costa Brava, visiting a friend in Girona, and would love to go back to the region one day.

“Nina helped us plan our elopement in Norway, and we could not have picked a better person to show the way. We are so happy that we trusted her to capture it, because we could not be happier with the pictures from such an important and special day in our lives.”

Travel Bucket List

Would I be an elopement photographer if I didn’t have a bucket list of locations that I want to help you elope in? Here are a few of my ideas that I think would make for an incredible elopement experience for the right couple.

  • Ski touring under the northern lights in Norway
  • Boating to a private beach in the south of France
  • Hiking hut-to-hut in the Swiss Alps
  • Kayaking through the Norwegian fjords
  • Horseback riding through Iceland
  • Whiskey tasting through the Scottish Highlands
  • Picnicking by the Seine on an evening in Paris
  • Island hopping in Greece
  • Road tripping along the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland
  • Eating a gourmet meal with all your friends in the backyard of a French chateau

“Nina is absolutely EXCEPTIONAL. She is down to earth, personable, responsive, hardworking, and exceeded our every expectation. She is so easy to work with and does everything in her power to make your day perfect. I couldn’t recommend her more for answering my 500 emails full of questions and capturing our day PERFECTLY.”
