The Experience

I am so honored that you are considering hiring me as your wedding photographer. I might  be a bit biased here, but I truly believe that finding the right photographer for you is one of the most important decisions you’ll make planning your dream wedding. I will be by your side throughout most of the day, sharing in the quiet moments and the loud laughter while always capturing you in the best light. That’s why I encourage you to read through this page, and for us to meet in person for a craft beverage (or via Skype/FaceTime if you’re not local) before you decide to book me.

Before Your Wedding Day

I know how much work you will be putting into planning your dream wedding, so please let me help where I can. I will assist you in creating a personalized wedding day timeline that leaves you with breathing room to be in the moment, but still gets you all the portraits and candids that you’ll cherish for years to come. I’ll also email you a series of tips & tricks in the months leading up to your wedding, and you can always email or text me with questions no matter how small.

On Your Wedding Day

My shooting style is a mix of capturing moments as they happen, and using simple prompts and movements to create naturally beautiful portraits … no matter how awkward you may think you are in front of the camera.

I don’t want you to miss cocktail hour because the family portraits took longer than planned, and I would rather let you have five minutes by yourselves as newlyweds after the ceremony than immediately rush you off for portraits. A relaxed couple is a happy couple, and I promise this approach will make a huge difference both in your photos and in how you remember the day ten years down the road.

After Your Wedding Day

I will email you a sneak peek within two days after your wedding, so that you have more than cell phone photos to share when you make that big Facebook “relationship status” change.

Even more important to me is making sure that your photos will have a life beyond social media. Digital photos can disappear in so many ways, from hard-drive failures to social media platforms dying, but heirloom quality prints will last for generations. Fine art albums are the perfect way to tell the story of your wedding day, and seeing your portraits on the walls of your home will keep the wedding bliss close.

When the photos are ready for delivery, I will have you set up a time to view the online gallery with your partner from the comfort of your own home. You’ll have a much better experience at home than if you happen to catch a glimpse while checking your email at work, so take this excuse to spend the evening side-by-side.

All Larsen Photo Co. wedding collections include full-resolution digital images with printing rights, delivered in a personal online gallery for viewing, sharing with friends and family, and ordering prints. Travel fees are always included, so that you don’t have to keep track of milage on top of everything else.

Elopements begin at $900.
Wedding collections begin at $2200.

Wedding FAQs

Will you photograph our LGBTQ+ wedding?

Yes! I have photographed gay weddings and even a polyamorous wedding, and truly believe that love is love, no matter your gender or sexuality.

Where are you based? Do you travel, and does that cost extra?

I’m based in Boulder, Colorado, but I love exploring and will gladly drive just about anywhere within Colorado. Don’t be afraid to reach out if you want photos elsewhere; I have worked in Norway, Iceland, Sweden, France, and across the U.S. and I’m always looking for new adventures. I do not add on travel fees: If I think we’re a good fit and I’m available, I would be honored to travel anywhere for your wedding.

Can you copy the photos from my Pinterest board?

I would love to take a look at the photos you’re inspired by to get an idea of what you like, but as there are many factors going into getting a specific shot I cannot guarantee that I will copy a photo exactly … nor should you want me to!

Can you set up a wedding registry for our guests to contribute to our photography products?

Absolutely! If you’d like to avoid getting a third toaster, photography gifts are a great way to go. Your guests can contribute towards any products you want to purchase, like a fine art album, heirloom print boxes, or wall art.

How many photos will we get?

The number of edited photos you will receive depends on how many hours I am there for, the schedule of events, etc. You will generally receive between 50-75 photos per hour of coverage.

How soon do we get our photos?

You will receive a sneak peek photo to your email within 48 hours after your wedding, and the rest of the photos will be ready within six weeks. Any album and print orders will be delivered within four weeks of when you approve the final proofs or make the final payment.

Will we get high-resolution files?

Yes, you will receive the edited photos delivered digitally via your own personalized gallery that you can share with friends and family, and you can download the photos in high-resolution.

Do you backup the photos?

Absolutely, and please do not work with a photographer who doesn’t! I copy all your files onto two separate hard drives as soon as I get home from your wedding, I keep one of those hard drives in my safe, and I won’t delete the files for at least two years after your wedding.

Do you have backup gear?

I sure do! I shoot on two cameras, and am always prepared with extra equipment in case I drop a camera into a river or a mountain lion eats my flash.

Do you have insurance and permits?

Yes, I maintain liability insurance, and can provide a copy of my insurance certificate to the venue upon their request. I also have photography permits for Boulder OSMP, Rocky Mountain National Park, Jefferson County, and will gladly research permits if you’re looking for a session elsewhere.

How and when do we pay?

When you are ready to book, a $1,000 retainer will hold your date. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your wedding date. For engagements, proposals, and other portrait sessions, the session fee is paid in full in advance.

Do you offer payment plans if your collections are a reach for our budget?

Yep! Talk to me, and let’s figure out a payment plan that will work for you. A retainer is always required to confirm your date, but the remaining balance can be split up into multiple payments.

This all sounds great, now how do we book you?

Get in touch via my contact form or give me a call at 303-219-0307. If I’m available for your date, we’ll set up a time for us to meet in person, so we can talk about your big day and make sure we’re right for each other. If you’re not local to the Boulder area, we can FaceTime or Skype instead!

Engagements & Proposals

Engagement Sessions: Starting at $500

Engagements begin at $500 for one hour (ish) portrait sessions in one location close to the Boulder area: examples would be in-home sessions, breweries, parks, short hikes, and other casual adventures. If you would like a more adventurous session, like hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, camping, skiing, or whatever else you love doing together as a couple, get in touch for a custom quote. All sessions include the edited high resolution photographs delivered in a custom online gallery.

Proposal Photography: $500

  • Planning help as needed (i.e. timing & location suggestions)
  • Arrival on location up to 30 minutes early to blend into the area or hide quietly.
  • 45 minute photo session, including the proposal and photos of the happy couple afterwards.
  • Same day edit of at least one photo of the two of you and one of the engagement ring to share on social media.
  • Includes the edited high resolution photographs delivered in a custom online gallery.
  • Book a Fourteener wedding collection with Larsen Photo Co. and get the full price of your proposal applied to the package.

An heirloom album will be there for you long after our current social media platforms have died down. Leave it out on your coffee table, flip through the pages together on your anniversary over a glass of wine, or let your kids browse it until they know the story by heart. Let it be seen, so your wedding is remembered.

Wall Art

I guarantee you have empty space somewhere that would shine with your wedding day memories, and I want to help you fill that space with fine art prints. Seeing the epic portrait from your first look above your bed, or the teary-eyed exchange of vows in your living room, is an investment in your relationship and will keep the happy memories close.
