The Manor House in Littleton
The Manor House is a historic wedding venue in Littleton, in the foothills half an hour south-west from downtown Denver. The large six-acre property is the perfect place for private weddings, with multiple spaces to choose from for both your ceremony and reception, without sharing the property with other events. The mansion sits at the top of a hill, with beautiful views of Dry Creek Canyon to the east and the foothills to the west, so you can get stunning portraits without having to leave the venue.
The southern style mansion was built in 1914, and has been hosting events since the 1930s. The main house was originally 8,000 square feet with 20 rooms, including an 80-foot-long living room. My favorite part of photographing weddings at The Manor House today, more than a hundred years later, is that the venue has maintained the elevated but cozy charm of a real home, and feels inviting yet exclusive from the minute you walk up the large stone staircase.
If the idea of getting married outdoors stresses you out with Colorado’s unpredictable weather, The Manor House is easily one of the best venues in Denver. While it’s a beautiful venue year-round, it especially shines in late fall, winter, and spring when other venues struggle with providing rain-and-snow backup locations. You also get a 25% discount on the rental for weddings from November through April!
The two most popular ceremony sites at The Manor House is the outside lawn with views towards downtown Denver, and the large ballroom. I also once photographed a ceremony that was moved from outside to the upstairs great room last minute when the rain would not stop, and the ballroom was already set up for the reception. So you have options for where to have your ceremony—and backups when you need one.
One of the biggest selling points of booking the Manor House for your wedding is that it’s a full-service venue, with their own experienced service staff and chef, so you don’t have to book a separate caterer. You can also rent Kent’s cottage, a beautiful 3-bedroom home a short walk from the main house, that’s perfect for getting ready or for spending the night after your wedding.
