Kaity + Manuel’s Colorado Adventure Engagement
On the morning of their Colorado adventure engagement session, I left home in Boulder before 4am to drive up to the mountains. I’m always a little extra nervous with sunrise sessions, hoping that my couples got up in time and found their way, but luckily I got a text from Kaity saying they were on their way. Poor Kaity was dealing with some serious altitude sickness that morning, but with plenty of hydration breaks, epic views of the mountains, and lots of love from Manuel, she quickly felt better.
Many of my couples only want a quick Colorado adventure engagement session, but Kaity and Manuel decided on booking two hours, so they’d have time for an outfit and location change. I love shooting longer sessions like this, because I get to know the couples so much better, and we’re all way more relaxed and goofing off by the second half! And as the sun kept rising, we finally started warming up too before Kaity slipped into her dress – a good thing, since the temperatures were in the ’40s when we started at 5:45am!
About this Colorado adventure engagement in Kaity’s words:
WHAT. A. DAY. Nina was… beyond incredible. We were on the fence about getting an engagement shoot at all and on top of that, I got altitude sickness that morning and almost cancelled last minute. We were nervous about not getting many good shots out of it, (and aside from being sick) in general, were worried about the pictures looking too posed. I am SO THANKFUL that we went forward with Nina after everything! The pictures capture our love so beautifully, I’ve looked at them 100 times over…. I love them so much! Nina – Thank you SO. MUCH. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
