1989 (Taylor’s Version) Wedding Inspiration

What happens when a group of Taylor Swift-obsessed wedding vendors gets together for a styled elopement inspired by the album release for 1989? Something out of my wildest dreams—that’s what!

This styled shoot was such a labor of love, and I am obsessed with it. My friends Jess of Terrene Gatherings, Liz of Embr Films, and Cara Jo of Knapp Design Co. are all as big Swifties as I am, so it felt natural to take our obsession out of our tiktok messages and into a photo studio.

Because Taylor herself can’t seem to decide if 1989 is a beach album or a city album, we took our inspiration from both. The industrial studio and the courthouse reminded us of the original NYC aesthetic, while our florist Mackenzie and stationer Cara Jo both brought in the beach in their designs. Without knowing each other’s plans, I folded a hundred paper airplanes for the ceremony arch, while Cara Jo made menus folded as planes and hung paper planes in her welcome sign.

I couldn’t have done this shoot without our models, Caira and Olivia. We had been following each other on social for a while and I knew they were both huge Swifties, so I really planned everything with them in mind.
