Lauren + Laura’s Ouray Micro-Wedding
Lauren and Laura are Denver locals, so when it came time to plan their micro-wedding they knew they wanted to head further into the mountains and away from the Front Range. They also wanted to split their day between an adventure for just the two of them in the morning, and a ceremony and celebration with all their closest friends and family in the evening. In their own words, they wanted “to look around on our day and love everyone we are celebrating with,” and that just perfectly captures why I love micro-weddings so!
After much research into the best small wedding venues in the mountains, we landed on the Venue at CSB—a beautiful rooftop ceremony space on the main street of Ouray in southwestern Colorado, followed by Brickhouse 737 for their dinner reception. Because the brides didn’t want to do much hiking, we rented a Jeep to do some off-roading in the morning. And that’s one of the best parts of eloping in the San Juans—there are so many incredible off-roading trails at different difficulty levels that anyone can explore the mountains without hiking.
One of the many things I loved about Lauren and Laura’s micro-wedding is how relaxed the whole day felt. Because they booked me for twelve hours, we were able to start the day without any stress, take our time while jeeping into the mountains listening to Taylor Swift, make sure the brides had some downtime together before the ceremony, and still have plenty of time to hang out with their guests at the end of the day. Your wedding day is always a full day, from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night, and deserves so much more than just a few hours of photos. These two got it!
